A Common Interface for Operator-Developed Payloads

C100 Mechanical Release Device (MRD) is a mechanically controlled payload interface installed on C100. Operators can design or adapt physical attachments around MRD to carry, secure, lower or release mission-specific equipment.

Because the attachment is mechanical, units can test new payload concepts without modifying the aircraft or requiring a dedicated software integration for every application.

Army infantrymen identified an operational need and designed an original attachment (dubbed the "Widowmaker"), using the C100 MRD as an interface between the C100 and the payload. This use case demonstrates the MRD's versatility in the field and adaptability to operators' needs.

Remote Medical Resupply

A U.S. Navy team deployed in an active combat zone adapted the MRD to deliver medical supplies utilizing both sides of the device: one side to release the delivery line and the second to drop blood packs for retrieval. This is a strong example of adapting the delivery method, not only the payload.
